SIDE EFFECTS

East Coast Fever is immunosuppressive disease. In asymptomatic carriers of others ticks transmitted disease, particularly Anaplasmosis, the carrier stage may be precipitated into severe clinical Anaplasmosis. This is often characterised by low parasitemia and profound anemia. Concurrent infection of ECF with Babesiasis or Cowdriosis (Heartwater) may be also encountered.
