Thioctic acid
4 mg
Benzyl alcohol (as preservative)
B.P. 2% v/v
Water for Injection
B.P. q.s.
INDICATION
Hepatic insufficiency of different etiologies.
Acute and chronic hepatitis. Antitoxic.
It is specially indicated for chemical intoxications (carbon tetrachloride), heavy metals (mercury and lead). Intoxications due to medicines, food, poisonous plants, and toxic substances with or without hepatic compromise. Acetonemia. Meteorism.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Subcutaneous, Intramuscular or Intravenous route.
Large species (Cattle and Horses) :
5 to 10 ml per 100 kg of weight per day.
Small species (Dogs and Cats) :
1 ml per 4 kg of weight per day.
Repeat treatment every 24 hours for 4, 5, 6 or more days according to veterinary criteria.
